I’m Gretta - a Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Dog Trainer, turned business nerd
For a long time, I never thought of myself as a business-type of person. Maybe you’re the same.
Before spending a decade in teaching, I somehow - don’t ask me how - ended up in sales and marketing roles straight out of uni. And whilst I learned a lot, one thing was clear: I hated selling. Or more accurately, I hated the way I was told it had to be done.
As a slightly-socially-awkward-introvert, it felt really unnatural. And as someone who values authenticity, ethics and transparency, it made me cringe.
So, I did things my own way - keeping the ‘good’ bits and ditching the rest. To my surprise, it worked… really well.
Years later, when I entered the world of dog training and behaviour, I saw incredibly skilled professionals burning out, undercharging and struggling to make ends meet. Meanwhile, I could barely keep up with demand, despite being the most expensive option around.
Colleagues started asking for advice and I realised I had a knack for spotting small but powerful changes that make a real impact.
